When should I install my eSIM for Taiwan?
Install it over Wi-Fi a few days before you travel and keep its line turned off until you land. Most plans start when they first connect to a network in Taiwan; plans that start when installed are marked. Before landing, turn off Data Roaming on your usual line so your carrier doesn't charge you.
Will my iPhone work in Taiwan?
It needs to support eSIM (iPhone XS, XS Max, XR or later) and not be locked to one carrier. See compatible iPhones.
What happens when my data runs out?
The plan ends when its days run out or its data is used up, whichever comes first. Top ups are not available; you can buy another plan in the app.
Do I keep my phone number?
Yes. The plans are data only. Your usual line keeps your number for calls and texts, and WhatsApp usually keeps working over the eSIM's data.
